A Tardy Bday Wish

Hi everyone!

I hope that everyone is off to a great start to their week! We're half way until the weekend! I've got tons of ideas for cards that I want to create, but I'm limited on time as I do have a group submission and a mid-term exam next week :( Hopefully I'll be able to sneak away from the pile of work I've got to do, to craft...even just for a little while! ;)

Remember, you still have time to enter into the current giveaway here. You have until this Friday at 12PM PST to enter.

Here's a witty little birthday card I created for Sarah over at PinkCricut.com's sew-easy link up party and button birthday card challenge over at Birthday Sundaes.

And for the inside sentiment, I used My Pink Stamper's More Punnylicious Stamp Set.

Trail of Treasures:
  • Card Base - standard A2 sized card, 4.25 x 5.5"
  • Layers - used DCWV Spring Stack for the patterned paper and used the Stampin' Up Scallop Border Punch, used my We-R Memory Keepers Sew-Easy for the border of the yellow layer
  • Frog - cut from Sweethearts Cartridge, stitched, and added a button with a stitched cross for the eyes
  • Lily-Pad and Balloons - cut from Create-a-Critter Cartridge
  • Sentiments - 'a tardy birthday wish' made using the PBD Small Banners set; inside sentiment from My Pink Stamper's More Punnylicious Stamp Set.

That's all I have for you guys today! Gotta run to class now!

Until next time's treasures,

CTO Challenge 30: Tall Card with Present - Gifts Galore

Hi everyone!

For the giveaway, please click here.

Welcome to another Celebrate the Occasion challenge! This week's challenge is to create a tall birthday themed card. In addition, it must also include a present. Ever since I came back from Vegas, I've been eager to create since I came back with a whole lot of goodies! My little nephew's birthday just recently past, and I never got a chance to make it before I left since I was swamped with things to do and events. So here it is! It will be off in the mailbox real soon since he lives in sunny San Diego :)

What a lucky boy he is! He received a mountain of gifts! ;)

Trail of Treasures:
  • Card base - fits in a 3.25 by 6" envelope, cardstock from Recollections; I welded a circle and a rectangle together for my base shape from Plantin Schoolbook and stitched around the card
  • Patterned Paper - Making Memories foil star paper (got 50 sheets of it for $2.99 from Tuesday Morning!)
  • Boy - cut from Baby Steps cart, face from Peachy Keen Stamps PK-451 Wide Eyed Kids 1 1/8" and I added Crystal Accents to the eyes, and pink chalk for the blush on the cheeks
  • Gifts - cut from New Arrival, and Create a Critter carts and some embellished with Stickles (Lime and Stardust). Other gift packages are Jolee stickers - I do not enjoy using the Cricut to cut out gifts :(
  • Banner - stamped and cut out using the Pink by Design Small Banners set, used a fiskars tiny hole punch, and used some blue twine

Make sure to celebrate birthdays with us this week! Have fun crafting!

Until next time's treasures,

CTO Challenge 26: Happy Birthday Fashionista!

Happy Tuesday crafters and welcome to another Celebrate the Occasion challenge!

For this week's challenge, create a birthday themed easel card. This is the first time I've ever created an easel card and let me tell you, it was super easy to do! I LOVE how it turned out and I think that there will be more easel cards in store for all of you! :) This week I decided to shift my focus from cute cards to elegant. I wanted to create a really girlie card, so that's exactly what I did -- a birthday card fit for a fashionista!

Isn't this so pretty?? I heat embossed the sentiment, popped up the birthday gift, and the sentiment. I also used my Tattered Angels glimmer mist to glimmer up the birthday bag - I cut out a rectangle, added some tissue paper, some floss, and stamped the sentiment. Here's another view:

I'm just loving the brown, black, pink, purple, and cream combination! Below is what I used for my card.

CTO Challenge 24: Surprise! A Brand New Bike For You!

Hello everyone!

Thank you all for the sweet comments - I've hit 100 followers! Yay! With school and work it's definitely hard to manage my blog and to participate in challenges, but because of all of you and my passion for crafting, I'm still here! :) So moving on, happy Tuesday and welcome to Challenge 24 over at Celebrate the Occasion. For today's challenge, it is to create a birthday card for a child. Here's what I came up with:

Isn't this card so super sweet? The little boy is blind-folded for the uncover of his birthday gift - a brand new bike! I used some fabric to tape over his eyes for his 'blind-fold.' I also cut up some packaging ribbon and attached it to the bike for a 'bow,' to make it more birthday-like. This card will fit in a 3.5 x 6" envelope.

Here's what the cutie looks like underneath the blind-fold:

Surprise! I used Peachy Keens PK-642 Boy Mates Face Assortment for his adorable peachy face!

Here's a peak to the sentiment on the inside of the card. I used the Pink By Design Big Thoughts set for the 'Happy Bithday':

Materials Used:
  • Card base - I used a tag from the Once Upon a Princess cart and welded it in my gypsy, then I copied the image and reduced the size a tad to get the layer
  • Patterned paper for layer from DCWV - All About Boys Stack
  • Tim Holtz Distressing Ink: Vintage Photo and Broken China
  • Ribbon cut from Formal Occasions Cartridge
  • PBD Small Banners set to spell out 'surprise'
  • Bike cut from Boys Will Be Boys Cart
  • Boy cut from Baby Steps Cartridge
  • Face from PK-642 Boy Mates Face Assortment
  • Pink By Design Big Thoughts Stamp Set
  • Glossy Accents for Bike
  • Gift Wrap Ribbon
  • Black Sukura Pen
  • Buttons
  • Fabric
  • Floss
Come along and join in on this challenge here! You have until Sunday, July, 7th at 11:59pm EST to play along with us! Have fun and good luck!

Until next time's treasures,

Hip, hip hooray! I'm a Celebrate the Occasion DT member!

Hi everyone!

I'm super ecstatic to announce that I've been selected as a Celebrate the Occasion design team member! I recently discovered this challenge blog and I absolutely LOVE it! Usually cards are exchanged during special occasions, and with the little amount of time that I have to craft, I usually only create cards for the special dates such as: birthdays, holidays, weddings, graduation, etc. This blog has challenges every week, and you have a chance to be entered into the drawing for a prize! Isn't that fabulous?! If you haven't been to their blog already, make sure to check it out here! I'll be posting projects for Celebrate the Occasion bi-weekly, so make sure to tune back in! For the design team call, we were asked to submit birthday projects that had never been posted before. My little cousin's birthday is in August, so I decided to get a head-start on her birthday card - I got her a cute Hello Kitty colouring book along with some other goodies so I decided to create a Hello Kitty card to go along with it! Enjoy!

The base of this card is 5 x 5. This is the first time I've used my Hello Kitty Greetings Cartridge - I didn't enjoy how this cart layered, but my Hello Kitty did turn out real cute! I used an action wobble to attach my cute little Hello Kitty! :)

Trail of Treasures:
  • Hello Kitty Greetings Cartridge
  • Tree cut from Create a Critter
  • My Little Shoebox pattened cloud paper
  • Martha Stewart Daisy Border Punch
  • PBD Small Banners Stamp Set
  • PBD SOM 'Bugs'
  • Black Sukura Pen
  • White Gelly Pen
  • Action Wobbles
  • Yellow Pearls
  • Ribbon
Congrats to all of the new CTO design team members! I look forward to working with you and seeing what you all create! :)

Don't forget my treasured friends about the treasure/giveaway going on here. ;)

Until next time's treasures,

Happy Baa Day

I'm back everyone! Two posts in one day! Is that not pretty amazing for me, coming from the girl who posts on average..maybe four times a month?!? Over at Birthday Sundaes, on the first Sunday of the Month, the challenge is anything goes, as long as it incorporates some sort of a birthday sentiment. Make sure you head over and join the fun for Challenge 12!

I just wanted to quickly share with you this card that I made with the scraps of a birthday card I made for a friend. You can view the original here. I've used the adorable lamb from the Create-a-Critter cartridge for so many birthday cards so far -- it is just too cute!!I love the pennant! The stamp set that I used is a Pink By Design stamp set called 'Small Banners' which you can purchase here.

Materials Used:
  • Create-a-Critter cart for the lambs, party hats, and pinwheel
  • Echo Park Springtime 6x6 paper pad for the patterned paper
  • Pink By Design Small Banners image set for pennant banner
  • Gray, brown, and white flocking powder
  • Ribbon for bows and ground
  • Rhinestone
  • Mini Brads
  • Twine
If you haven't had a chance to yet, you can view my Father's Day card idea here.

Have a fabulous start of the week everyone!

Birthday Lambs

Hello all!

I hope that everyone's weekend has been superb so far! The sunshine is out here in Vancouver and it's turning out to be more of a gorgeous weekend than we had intended! All we've been getting lately is clouds and rain which is unusual for the end of May. Regardless, happy long-weekend to all the Americans as you celebrate Memorial Day!

Today I have a card for you all that I made for my sweet friend Amy. She just turned 2-0 which is a super big deal! Haha! She's no longer a teen! I ensured her that her 20s will be great, if not better than her teenage years! ;) So, since her sister told me that she's in love with sheep, I created this sheep card for her to depict her and her sister (they're really close!). Surprisingly, according to the Chinese zodiac, Amy is also born in the Year of the Sheep just like my younger cousin. Lots of sheep cards for me! This one is a standard A2 sized card.

  • Rhinestones and pearls
  • Ribbon for bows
  • Mini Brads
  • Twine
Here's a picture of my sister and I with the birthday girl:

Once again, happy birthday Amy dearest!

Hope you all liked the card! :)

Until next times' treasures,
Tracey xox
