My Lil' Chicadee - Krafty Girls and Peachy Keen Challenges

Happy Tuesday my treasured friends!

I have been swamped with group projects, and now I'm heading into exam time, but it was really nice sitting down this past weekend and working on a crafty project! This is really how I celebrate my down time and it definitely helps me relax. If only I had more time to craft and blog - oh, the life of a student.

Moving on to a higher note, this week we're back with another Krafty Girls' Challenge! This week's challenge is to create an Easter project. Since I just received my Peachy Keen Dies in the mail, I was DYING to play with them!! I got perfect spring dies - the Potted Flower and Shower Peepers. These were perfect for the challenge, and keeping this week's Peachy Keen Challenge - Faux Stitching in mind, I created an 8 x 8 Easter/Spring layout.

Isn't the lil' chicadee just too adorable?? I added the eggs from another Peachy Keen Die - the egg and duck die. The sentiment suited my layout just perfectly!

Here's a close-up of my adorable peachies!!

Trail of Treasures:

  • Layout Base - 8 x 8" cut in white cardstock, stitching done in blue
  • Layer - cut at 7 x 7" from the DCWV Nana's Nursery Boy Stack, punched at the top with the Martha Stewart Daisy Border Punch and added pearls to the centers of the flowers
  • Photo Layers - chocolate layer cut at 6.5 x 4.5", layer cut from Recollections All Year 180  Sheet Stack, stitched around the edge with Sukura Gelly Roll Pen
  • Grass - cut a strip of 8 x 1.5" in green and used the Fiskars Grass Punch
  • Chick - chick cut from the Peachy Keen Shower Peepers Die and the egg is from the Peachy Keen Duck and Egg Die, egg is distressed with Tim Holtz Broken China Distress Ink
  • Potted Flowers - cut from the Peachy Keen Potted Flower Die, pots are distressed with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink, and stitched around the petals
  • Sentiment - from My Creative Time's Color Me Happy Set, oval from My Creative Time's Stitched Oval Die, and attached with Blue Berry Trendy Twine

MCT Throwback Thursday Challenge: My Hunny Bunny

Hello my treasured friends!

I hope your weekend has been off to a great start! I actually wanted to have this layout done by yesterday, but of course, things never go as planned, lol. I was SO excited to see that Emma over at My Creative Time is having a Cricut-less challenge! I usually dread these challenges, but since my Gypsy has been sick for so long, I have gotten by with creating cricut-less projects, or using the Cricut as minimal as possible. Make sure to join in on the fun to have a chance at winner her entire stamp release!!

I'm super behind with my scrapbooking, so my goal is to make scrapbook pages for challenges wherever possible, haha. So here's what I created using only my Cuttlebug and punches for last year's Easter.

And another view:

And here's a close-up of the adorable peachy bunnies!!

Trail of Treasures:

  • Base - 8 x 8" layout, patterned spring paper from DCWV Spring Stack
  • Layer One - 6.75 x 6.75" cut in brown cardstock, used the Martha Stewart Double Loops Around the Page Punch

To Somebunny Special - Happy Birthday Little Sis: PKS Sketch Challenge 63

Hello my treasured friends!

This is for somebunny special on her 17th birthday -- my little sister! This year she'll be graduating from high-school, and I could not be more proud of her. Her party won't be until this Friday, during her long weekend. So little one, enjoy your day today cuz it is yours!

Our friends got her a bunny as a surprise birthday present. They were taking care of it for a month, before giving it to her about a week and a half ago. He's the cutest little thing ever! He's golden brown with white paws, and a white tummy. My sister adores him, and pretty much all of her gifts have been bunny themed to match the rabbit - his name is Radio because his ears are always uneven. So, to match Radio, I created my little sister a card that resembled her little bunny!

Isn't the bunny just the cutest?! I love it!! It's one of the great Peachy Keen dies! I loved that this card was cricut-less, cuz sometimes, it's just easier to create a card less the Cricut (only sometimes! ;) The Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge 63 was perfect for what I wanted to create. You can play along here. The sketch goes as follows:

Here's my sister's bunny Radio!! He's the smartest little bunny ever!

Trail of Treasures:
  • Card Base - 4.5 x 4.5" square card cut out of Kraft cardstock, and added specialty twine for the bow
  • Card Layer - used the Spellbinders Nestabilities Label One (the largest one), patterned paper from DCWV Flower Shower 180 Stack, then cut a green layer as well, trimmed it down, and cut it to look like grass. For the fence, I used the Martha Stewart Picket Fence border punch
  • Bunny and Carrot - Peachy Keen Bunny Die, face stamped with PK 440 - Cute and Cuddly Face Assortment
  • Sentiment - from My Creative Time's Color Me Happy set - one of her very first releases! Used it with Tim Holtz Broken China Distress Ink

Once again, Happy Birthday Little Sis! <3

Until next time's treasures,

CTO Challenge 32: Any Occasion with Ribbon - Mr. and Mrs.

Hello my treasured friends!

There's a lot of fun challenges going on this week that I would love to participate in! If only I had more time! Make sure to check back this week for more posts, and if you have not done so already, make sure to enter into the giveaway here. You have until the 30th!

For this week's Celebrate the Occasion Challenge, you can create a card for ANY occasion, just make sure to include ribbon! Isn't that great? We make cards for all sorts of occasions! I was having a hard time deciding which occasion to create a card for! In the end, I created a wedding-themed card that I also entered into the My Craft Spot Ribbon Challenge.

I'm just loving how it turned out! Here's a close-up of the Pink by Design sentiment.

And here's the stamped sentiment on the inside of the card:

Easter is on its way!

Hello my crafty friends!

Since Easter is quickly approaching, I had to finish up some treat holders for my younger cousins and my boyfriend's niece and nephew. I found these favour boxes at the Dollar Tree in the States and decided to pick them up and jazz them :) I thought that the material would be glossy but it's just regular cardstock which was a bit of a disappointment, but needless to say, they worked well! Here's the packaging for these favour boxes.

For my first box, I decided to keep it nice and simple. I used Martha Stewart's Garden Trellis border punch and the image is cut from the cart, A Child's First Year at 1.5". The sentiment is from Emma's Color Me Happy Stamp Set which you can purchase here. I had some material butterfly embellishments that I added to the handle and blinged it up just a tad with my irock :)
