You're Never Too Old to Dream a New Dream

For the Krafty Girls Feelin' Lucky post, click here

Hello my treasured friends!

I have a quick card to share with you today! School has eased a little bit since the beginning of the stressful week, so yay! We're mid way through the week, and that means that the weekend is almost here! :) Here's a card that I created for a friend's birthday - he loves history, travelling, and collecting gems. I tell him that he shouldn't be in the business field, and that he should be a historian instead haha. If only we could all pursue what we were truly passionate about huh? Life is short, so do what makes you happy! :)

The inside is stamped with a Pink By Design sentiment:

I'll be entering this into Celebrate the Occasion's Birthday Challenge with Bling, and I'll be linking this up to Pink Cricut's Link Up Party

Trail of Treasures:
  • Card Base - cut in navy cardstock at 5.5 x 4.25", outlined in gold gel pen
  • Card Layer - cut at 5.25 x 4", patterned paper from DCWV Tradewinds Stack, distressed using Tim Holtz Walnut Stain and Tea Stain Distressing Inks, added navy specialty twine
  • Globe - cut at 3.5" from Locker Talk in gold and silver foil cardstock, added irock gems
  • Sentiment - from Pink By Design July 2011 Believe in Yourself Stamp of the Month

Remember, you're never too old to dream a new dream! :)

Until next time's treasures,

Krafty Girls Challenge 2: Feelin' Lucky

Hello my treasured friends!

I've been super busy this week at school, and speaking of which, today I have a midterm so wish me luck! Welcome to another Krafty Girls Challenge! For this week's challenge, it is to create a card, scrapbook layout, 3D item, or home decor project with a St. Patrick's Theme, hence the, "feelin' lucky?" Haha. Well my Gypsy is still down, and I feel super lost without it, so I created a super simple card with a cartridge from last year's spring collection cartridge, the Cricut Spring Holiday Cards cartridge. I'll be linking this project up to Pink Cricut's Link Up Party and entering it over at Made Especially For You's Stitching Challenge, DL Art's Thankful Thursday Challenge - anything goes, Little Scrap Pieces' Green Challenge, and the Pink By Design Kiss Me I'm Irish Blog Hop Challenge.

Here's a peek inside the card:

Trail of Treasures:

  • Card Base - cut in kraft cardstock at 6.25 x 3.5", stitched in white around the base of the card with the Sukura White Gelly Roll Pen
  • Card Layer - cut at 6 x 3.25", patterned paper DCWV Flower Shoppe 180 Stack
  • Clovers - cut at 1" from the Cricut Spring Holiday Cards Cartridge, added Martha Stewart Golden Beryl glitter
  • Strip - cut at 6.25 x 1.25" in brown cardstock popped up with pop dots, embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder
  • Sentiment - Pink By Design Luck O' the Irish stamp set, four leaf clover is a sticker, added Lime Green Stickles

If you're working on your St. Patty's projects, make sure to join us at Krafty Girls and enter it into the challenge!

Until next time's treasures,

GIVEAWAY: Krafty Girls Blog Hop, Hockey Night in Canada

Hello my treasured friends!

Happy Valentine's Day and welcome to the first ever Krafty Girls blog hop and challenge! Today we're all showcasing projects that reflect our home sweet homes. If you've arrived here from Stephanie's blog, you're on the right track, and at the very last stop of the blog hop! I hope that you all have been blown away by the amount of talent these girls have! Here's the order of the blog hop in case you've lost your way or if you'd like to hop along! This is the first blog hop I've ever participated in, so I'm super excited!!

Krafty Girls --> Start Here
Tracey <-- You are here

I currently reside in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It was here that we hosted the 2010 Winter Olympics, and last summer our hockey team, the Vancouver Canucks made it to the semi-finals during the NHL Playoffs. I was going to do a traditional red and white layout but after updating my Gypsy (so that I could load the Go Canada Cartridge on there), it doesn't work!! Ironic, isn't it? Here's a layout that I created to capture the Vancouver spirit.

Here's a close-up of the "Hockey night in Canada" title:

Trail of Treasures:
  • Card Base - cut in blue cardstock, 8 x 8", used white Gelly Roll pen for stitching
  • Journalling Frame - used a Walmart stamp set (sorry, I don't know what it was called!), and it fit perfectly in the Nestabilities Labels One die
  • Title - cut both the layer and shadow at 2.5" from the Go Canada Cricut cartridge, added stitching, sticker pucks, and Crystal Accents to make it glossy

Today after all is Valentine's Day, so here's the Valentine's postcard I created for my boyfriend. I'll be entering this into The Cuttlebug Spot - Sweetheart Challenge.

Here's an up-close look, and a peek at the back of the postcard:

Trail of Treasures:
  • Postcard Paper - from Martha Stewart 4.75 x 6.75" Key and Heart Mat Pad
  • Layer - cut at 2.75 x 6" and used the Martha Stewart Lace Heart Punch
  • Twine on flowers and the middle of the postcard - Trendy Twine's Valentine Twine Cherry Cupcake
  • Sentiment - My Creative Time's This & That set; heat embossed with Martha Stewart's Ladybug Embossing Powder

Now, what is a blog hop without any treasure??? So, here's what you've been anxiously awaiting for! To one lucky winner you'll have the chance to win...a new Cricut Playtime Cartridge!

That's right! Here are the details for the giveaway:
